Black Stick Raft Guide Paddle
From the proprietary epoxy/dynel/durable film matrix that is compression molded to the 1 1/4" or 1 1/8" diameter 6061-t6 aluminum .049" wall seamless tube shaft, to the riveted aluminum wear tip in the blade, these paddles are desirable to own.
The same comfortable T-grip as always, available in different colors. (Black, Orange and Dark Green)
The Black Stick was once a custom layup for a few raft guides on the Black river in Watertown, NY. Requested so to withstand the abuse of the "chert" formations in the river bed, the "Black Stick" is now a standard at Norse. We figured since the Black river guides liked them so much other guides might too!
The Black stick has the same sturdy construction as the "Legend" with the addition of more layers of 10 oz fabric and epoxy resin, and with additional rivets in the aluminum tip.
The "Black Stick" comes in three shaft choices.
The choice of the Heavy Duty shaft outside finished diameter is aproximately 1 9/32" or 1 5/32" for smaller hands.
Or the choice of the fiberglass "skypole" shaft outside diameter is 1 1 /4". The flex and strength of fiberglass provides less fatigue to the guide and longevity to the paddle.

Paddle lengths are available from 60" up to 70" in 1 inch increments.
66" standard shaft Black Stick weight is around 50 oz.
